This was a brochure for Club DEVO swag from 1981. Don't remember why it was sent to me. Notice that they don't like credit cards. (click on images to enlarge)
Crazy Mama's started almost 31 years ago
In December, 1979 Crazy Mama's opened as Columbus's defacto New-Wave nite club. It was a second floor bar on the southern edge of the south campus bar area. It was the first to show music videos on multiple monitors at a time before VHS cassettes. It hired DJ's like the fading disco club scene, but was opened to all of rock and roll, past and future. It was a small venue for bands, but members of local new-wave bands became the regular customers. As the above drink menu shows (a cut-out flier by Paul Volker), Crazy Mama's, run by Bruce Nutt and his brother Charlie, was focused on non-mainstream drinks. (click on pictures to enlarge and read.
